At Hartley Brook Primary Academy, we’re proud to be a welcoming and inclusive school where every child can thrive. We accept children from Nursery through to Year 6, with places often available throughout the year for families moving into the area, or for children transferring from other schools.

We deal with applications for Nursery places ourselves and accept pupils into the Nursery base from their third birthday. If you require an application pack or further details, please contact Miss Renshaw/school office (01142 456882) or via email HBEnquiries@astreahartleybrook.org

The allocation of all other places at our school is managed by Sheffield City Council – and you must apply via their website: https://www.sheffield.gov.uk/schools-childcare/apply-school-place

The application deadline for Reception places is 15 January, with offers typically made on 16 April or the next working day. Please remember that attending our Nursery does not automatically secure a place in Reception – a separate application is required.

If you’re moving into the area or looking for a school place mid-year, your application will also be handled by Sheffield City Council. In-year admissions can be applied for at any time, and the council will coordinate your request and let you know of available places.

If there are more applications than available places, Sheffield City Council uses strict criteria to prioritise admissions. These include:

Proximity to the school

Children in care or previously in care

Children with siblings already attending the school
