Safeguarding

We all have a statutory duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.

If you have any concerns about the health and safety of a child at this education setting or feel that something may be troubling them, you should share this information with the appropriate member of the safeguarding team straight away.

Hartley Brook Academy uses a recording system called CPOMS.  This is a secure system that is accessible to staff within our school.

CPOMS enables us to track communication with parents and carers, as well as pupils and external agencies.

We use CPOMS to record pastoral and welfare information across school such as; behaviour, bullying, safeguarding and medical.

Some issues e.g. a child’s appearance, hygiene, general behaviour, can be shared with any teacher or member of staff within the school. Do not worry that you may be reporting small matters, we would rather you tell us things which turn out to be small, than miss a worrying situation.

However, if you think the matter is very serious and may be related to a child protection concern, e.g. physical, sexual, emotional abuse or neglect, you must talk to Debbie Hughes by contacting the school office on 0114 2456882

School work with professionals to help families get support that they require. School can refer to a Multi-Agency Support Team (MAST) who can work with us to identify what support is required. On some occasions school will need to work with the family to do a Family Common Assessment Framework (FCAF) which gathers information about the whole family.
